Networking WinXP and Mac OS X

I can ping both the PC and the Mac and can "map" to the
apple for the PC but I can't share the intenet with the
apple is there a service or program that I need to install
on WinXP to get it to work my internet connection is is on
the PC (DSL USB) I have a NIC card out to the Apple.

I would rather use router(recently it's price very reasonable or cheap),
it is much easier & convenient
and each machine is a sort of independent with router.
(You can only power on & use only one compter without another one.)

By the way what OS are you using for Mac.
Max OS X(Panther)?
